K-ON! episode 6, first stage performance
Saturday, May 9th 2009
Well, it seems that I am starting to like what I see in the way the story of K-ON! develop. As we already known from the last episode, this episode will feature Light Music Club in their first stage performance. This stage performance will be held as a part of Sakuragaoka School Festival.
It turns out that Yui's voice is not yet recovered since her over-training session with Sawako-sensei in the last episode. This result in Yui's voice being lower than her usual voice. Ritsu and Yui decided to play with that voice a bit. Anyway, that is a great quote in part of Yui. The real match (I mean the stage performance) is very soon anyway.
They have to prepare for the performance and bringing all the equipment from music room to sport hall is a part of that preparation. The club members are all girls and they have to bring all the heavy things with no single gentleman helping them (It seems that there is no boy in Sakuragaoka). For all its worth, it seems that there is a big gap between the strength and stamina of Yui and Tsumugi.
Poor Mio, she is really embarrassed having to sing the song she wrote herself. She even asked Ritsu to do the vocal instead. She even said she is willing play both the drum and the bass ( Ritsu can't play bass, look at episode 2 for reference ), if Ritsu want to take the vocalist role ( Of course Ritsu don't believe Mio can play drums and bass at the same time ? ).
The moment of truth finally come. They have to perform the music anyway. Mio is still feeling embarrassed, but the team tried to calm her anyway. I happen to scan across the audience and the scan result seems to confirm that there is indeed no male student in Sakuragaoka ( there are male guests and teachers, but no male student sighted since episode 1 ).
To cut long story short, the performance went well ( with a minor accident at the end of the performance ). Because of said minor accident, now Mio have her own fans club. Still, I am wondering whether there are so many Bi-girls in Sakuragaoka. I never seen any male students in their school since episode 1, although their existence was mentioned by Ritsu during episode 5.
