Evidence of bi-ness among Harvest Moon Girls
Wednesday, May 13th 2009

After writing about the possibility that Karen form Harvest Mooon : More Friends of Mineral Town is Bi, I am curious on the possibility of evidence about the bi-ness among other Harvest Moon girls. Turn out that I manage to find evidence of bi-ness on three other girls. They are Popuri, Karen and Elli. I have not found any evidence of bi-ness on Ann, because I don't sure what she really love.

I had intended to let my character Fiona marry Rick of Poultry Farm ( funny, I thought Rick was a girl when I played the boy version ). Therefore, I have to be kind toward his mother and sister as well. One of Popuri's favorite is chocolate, so I bought several clusters of gift-wrapped chocolate and give them to her. I don't really understand girl, but what it means when a girl say to other girl, "You better treat me like an Adult, Fiona!" while blushing?

Mary also like chocolate and her library is not far from the supermarket. Twelve clusters of gift-wrapped chocolates should be enough to win her heart, regardless of your gender. For all it worth, I would say that the evidence that Mary is Bi is not really strong.

Chocolate is not really Elli's favorite, what she really love is gift-wrapped flowers. The bad news is it is winter at the moment. The good news is I have stockpiled enough flower (and firewood) to boost my stamina during winter. Actually, I would really glad to have Elli help me in the farm during the three busy seasons.

I still have not found any evidence about the bi-ness of Ann. I don't know what things she really love. From the walkthroughs I got from several sources, it seems that she prefer cooked foods to raw items. Too bad my kitchen does not have all the required apparatus yet. I would be more than interested if someone else could post something about Ann here.

After finding more evidence about the bi-ness of Harvest Moon girls, I would also be curious about the reaction of each girl if I let Fiona presenting the blue-feather for any of them, assuming red heart level ( Characters with no visible heart level still have heart level, it is just not shown to you ).

Of course I know that it is more reasonable to say that, whoever responsible for characters' dialogs in the game either forget to change the girls' dialog or simply let it that way for hilarity.

K-ON! episode 6, first stage performance
Saturday, May 9th 2009

Well, it seems that I am starting to like what I see in the way the story of K-ON! develop. As we already known from the last episode, this episode will feature Light Music Club in their first stage performance. This stage performance will be held as a part of Sakuragaoka School Festival.

It turns out that Yui's voice is not yet recovered since her over-training session with Sawako-sensei in the last episode. This result in Yui's voice being lower than her usual voice. Ritsu and Yui decided to play with that voice a bit. Anyway, that is a great quote in part of Yui. The real match (I mean the stage performance) is very soon anyway.

They have to prepare for the performance and bringing all the equipment from music room to sport hall is a part of that preparation. The club members are all girls and they have to bring all the heavy things with no single gentleman helping them (It seems that there is no boy in Sakuragaoka). For all its worth, it seems that there is a big gap between the strength and stamina of Yui and Tsumugi.

Poor Mio, she is really embarrassed having to sing the song she wrote herself. She even asked Ritsu to do the vocal instead. She even said she is willing play both the drum and the bass ( Ritsu can't play bass, look at episode 2 for reference ), if Ritsu want to take the vocalist role ( Of course Ritsu don't believe Mio can play drums and bass at the same time ? ).

The moment of truth finally come. They have to perform the music anyway. Mio is still feeling embarrassed, but the team tried to calm her anyway. I happen to scan across the audience and the scan result seems to confirm that there is indeed no male student in Sakuragaoka ( there are male guests and teachers, but no male student sighted since episode 1 ).

To cut long story short, the performance went well ( with a minor accident at the end of the performance ). Because of said minor accident, now Mio have her own fans club. Still, I am wondering whether there are so many Bi-girls in Sakuragaoka. I never seen any male students in their school since episode 1, although their existence was mentioned by Ritsu during episode 5.

Anime I follow : K-ON! now at episode 5
Sunday, May 3rd 2009

The title of this particular anime K-ON! was derived from a homophone in Japanese kei-on-gaku (軽音楽) which translate to light music in English. Basically this is a 4-girl-set kind of anime, which is a reason why a lot of anime fans compare this to another popular 4-girl-set such as Lucky Star.

So far I have been following K-ON! up to episode 5. From episode 1 to episode 4, the only thing that come up to my mind is simply, "Ah another slice of life", but that started to change after I watched episode 5. I think this is something normal, since most anime do need several episodes for introducing the characters.

As the name suggest, the story of this anime revolve around four girls, Hirasawa Yui, Tainaka Ritsu, Akiyama Mio and Kotobuki Tsumugi who joined the light music club (軽音楽部). Episode 1 up to 2 were basically the introduction, the characters and their traits were introduced. In episode 3 and 4 the club struggle to gain the momentum.

In episode 5, things begin to get interesting. There are a lot of things happening in this episode alone and most of those happenings are hilarious. The most hilarious being Sawako-sensei's getting a crush, politely rejected, trying too hard to get accepted and politely rejected again with "Sawako, yarisugi" (Sawako, you are doing too much). That really cracked me up. Just for a side note : guys, if you have a girl so deeply in love with you just like Sawako did, please consider their feeling seriously and if you really have to reject, reject politely.

Anyway, if you want more information about this anime, there are lots of blogs already blogging this anime. As much as I like anime, I don't blog about them regularly except if something really interesting happen. Blogs that regularly feature K-ON! are That Animeblog, Kurogane's Anime Blog, Subculture Anime Blog, Anime Blog ga Arimasu, Rabbit Poet, Hanner's Anime Blog and many others. Bloggers who blog anime regularly usually also keep links to other blogger's post as well. Sometimes I read their posts, just to find out how other people think about the particular episode of an anime series.

At the time I write this post, I re-watch K-ON! from episode 1. It seems that just like Kanon, KyoAni also presented the "they ever met before" in this anime. By "they ever met before", I mean that KyoAni presented a scene in the early part of the anime where the characters pass each other, before they introduce themselves to each other. I didn't realize that when I watched episode 1 for the first time, but went "AHA" when I decided to watch it again.

Karen from Harvest Moon is Bi?
Thursday, April 30th 2009

Several days ago I decided to play Harvest Moon: More Friends from Mineral Town again after not playing it for more than one year. More than that, I decided to play the game from the beginning.

Today I just played up to Fall 15. Yes, that is Karen's birthday. Being a good citizen of Mineral Town, I try to be kind to everyone. So I decided to give 8 gift-wrapped wine to Karen for her birthday presents , even if I play the girl version of the game.

After I gave her the birthday presents, I decided to talk to her and you can read what she said on the picture above. Well, perhaps the developer forget to change the line for the girls version or ..... Karen is really Bi. ( The use of "Bi" was popularized by Tomoya's use of it in Clannad )

That's being said in this particular version of Harvest Moon, the heroine can not only marry the five normal bachelors but also the odd ones like Kappa, Gourmet Judge or Won. Unlike the normal bachelors whose heart color could be viewed in the game, the odd ones doesn't have their heart color shown up. You will have to complete special conditions to marry either Kappa, Gourmet Judge or Won.

Who knows if the girls actually have those invisible hearts, as well. I would be interested to see what is going to happen if I make my heroine give her the blue feather.

Clannad and Kanon Cosplay Video from YouTube
Sunday, April 5th 2009

Just found this two videos from YouTube. Atashi04 from YouTube seems to like cosplaying a lot and I think she did a good job doing it.

In the video above she was cosplaying for Kanon as Misaka Shiori and Tsukimiya Ayu.

She also did a good job cosplaying as Furukawa Nagisa and Ibuki Fuuko from Clannad. Honestly I never seen Nagisa and Botan this friendly in the anime.

In both videos, she was not only cosplayed them, but also made the environment looks like the scene found (with a lot of improvisation, of course) in anime. Good Job, atashi04 from YouTube!
